Nihilitarianism

Taking past successes serious makes us complacent and taking past failures serious makes us diffident. Either way, it's best not to focus on the past at all. Whatever was done in the past was done by someone else, and if we let ourselves be determined by them, we are their slaves. Only by starting over from nothing can we be free to move in all directions, to do anything and therefore be anything. Nothingness is the only status we should always return to, because we are but a moment, and a moment is infinitesimal, as good as nothing.
