Two kinds of art can be distinguished: "natural arts", such as singing, dancing and acting, which create external experiences in the process, and "humanist arts" such as writing, painting and sculpting, which express internal experiences that were already there. Art is only as valuable as the experience it involves, and to others, it's only valuable inasmuch as it inspires them to experience. With technological telepathy, humanist arts will be reduced to the act of experiencing itself — but the natural arts will still exist besides telepathy, and will be seen as the only thing that's actively created, as experiences themselves are passive. Since these will become a focus of society, the future will be one of play.
