Everyone's complaining about all the suffering in the world. If they met its creator and could ask anything, the first and only thing they'd think of asking is "why all the suffering in the world?" But I complain about all the apathy in the world, just the opposite, at first glance. If the world had a creator, I would ask them why they left us in apathy, why they didn't make us suffer more. But then they'd reply, "listen, I just got here, I'm as clueless as you are" and it would turn out they're not its creator after all, and then it all becomes clear: we became apathetic because we chose it over immediate suffering, even if it meant more suffering was to come, and no happiness would ever come — we stick our heads in the sand and if there were a creator, all they could say is "suit yourself" and turn away. On the whole, as a species, we have nothing to complain about. We just need to toughen up and dare to truly live.
