Why do you think anything is required of you by the universe? The universe is but an illusion, and the only reason we should do good is because that illusion is an extension of ourselves, or rather our egos are an extension of that illusion — at any rate we are the illusion and the illusion is us. All we do to/for others we do to/for ourselves, because as far as we're concerned they are but a projection of our own psyche, and we shouldn't feel guilty or proud what we do to/for ourselves anymore than we take it so serious what we do to/for ourselves. Taking care of others is a way of taking care of ourselves, a matter of course. Whatever is right to us is right to the universe and the other way around, and morality external to consciousness is meaningless.
