"If you ever think 'I shouldn't think that' or 'I shouldn't feel that' — or just as bad, 'I shouldn't make them think or feel that,' you're probably not in the right place, because the point of this place is that it's for the kind of people here that let their consciousness go wherever it wants."
"That can also be away from others!"
"Yes, and people will come and go. And there will be several communities after a while, with people moving from one to the other. There isn't a system here, just a bunch of people that came together to get to know each other."
"But don't we have to limit certain things to remain sane?"
"Sane? What's so great about being sane anyway? How do you define sane, and do you think others are? Most of the people you've known could be brought to kill an innocent if someone in authority told them to, because they see authorities as limiting their own freedom. Sanity isn't limitation, it's balance, and balance is created by combining opposites, by annulling any limit between them, and that requires improvisation, because that balance ever shifts. Anyone who ever pursued one-sidedness and did not have a psychotic breakdown from it was simply incompetent at doing so."
