To accept ourselves, to accept what it means to be human, we must accept the full scope of emotions which our brain evolved as its purpose. This is why almost no one truly accept themselves and there is hardly any authenticity anywhere in the world. People don't like how their emotions are beyond their control and merely flow freely this way and that. The way they are influenced by events and people makes them feel invaded, as if they are not themselves, but they aren't: the brain transcends our egos into the environment it perceives, a truth that we have the choice only to accept or repress. Not accepting who one truly is means not accepting one's connection with others. I accept myself, meaning that I accept any perception that may arise in myself no matter where it comes from, including the perception of another person: but I cannot accept the other person because they are beyond the reach of my psyche. It is for them to accept themselves, and none can do that for them. And so I keep searching for an honest human.
