Oxford students are told to "grow up" for wanting to remove the statue of a mass murderer from their campus. There is not a doubt that if the Nazis had been victorious, these people would have no problem with monuments of Hitler. Case in point: there's a statue in my home town of Leopold II, who killed 10 million Africans — that's more than the 6 million Jews Hitler killed! It gives the message that we are tolerant of genocide. If it's our city, we get to decide what it looks like, and I don't think anyone ever passes by these and thinks "I'm glad you were there, Leopold II". It has no other effect than eroding the morality of our society.
