Nihilitarianism

There's no evolutionary reason why men should be more promiscuous than women: for women as for men, there are cases in which it can be evolutionarily advantageous to get many men attracted to them: for men, it increases the chance that they'll impregnate one of them, and for women, it increases the chance that they'll get the parental support of one of them (especially if it's unknown who is the father). Since we're as closely related to bonobos as chimpanzees with a social structure somewhere in between the two, and humans are extremely adaptable, it may be more culture than biology that determines which is more advantageous to whom. That's why a study found that when the roles in speed dating are reversed and women are the ones switching from one table to another, the women were the ones who showed more interest than the men.
